REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

MARCH 15, 2016

Call to order and Pledge of Allegiance

The regular meeting of the School Board of District #477 was called to order by Chair Jeremy Miller on the 15th day of March, at 7:00 p.m. in the District Office Board Room.

Roll Call: Members Present: Jeremy Miller, Deb Ulm, Eric Minks, and Chuck Nagle

Members Absent: Craig Johnson, Howard Vaillancourt, Chad Young

Others present: Superintendent Julia Espe, Director of Teaching and Learning Julie Williams

Student Council Representative: Sadie Nowak

REPORTS

Board committee meeting(s) and School Events each Board member attended.

Chuck Nagle: No report

Deb Ulm: Whole Life Challenge finals

Eric Minks: No report

Jeremy Miller: Meet and Confer

Student Council Report: The high school just finished their SWAN (Stuff We All Need) project. They were able to fill a truck with donations.They are starting to prep for a dance at the beginning of April.

Superintendent Report: Julia Espe spoke about the Superintendents conference she attended last week. At the conference they had a futurist come to speak with the group about what education will look like. Google Expedition came to the Middle School. All of the students loved the presentation.

APPROVE AGENDA

Motion made by Deb Ulm seconded by Eric Minks, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed unanimously.

DISCUSS and ACT on PREVIOUS BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Motion by Deb Ulm and seconded by Eric Minks, to approve the March 1st 2016 Regular Board meeting and closed meeting minutes as presented. Motion passed unanimously.

CONSENT AGENDA

Motion made by Eric Minks and seconded by Deb Ulm to to approve the consent agenda as presented: Personnel, Open Enrollment, Bills, Wire Transfers, Enrollment Update, Fundraisers and Change Orders. Motion passed unanimously.

INFORMATION

Gifted and Talented Update- Teachers from the Gifted and Talented program gave an update on the program within our schools. The presentation can be found on board book.

ACTION ITEMS

Second Reading of Policies # 104, 202, 304, 510, 511, 701, 701.1 and 701.2-. Motion made Eric Minks and seconded by Deb Ulm to approve the second readings of the policies. Motion passed unanimously.

One Day Less for Students at South Elementary Only- Motion made by Deb Ulm and seconded by Eric Minks to endorse a non-student day for South Elementary School only, on May 27 2016. This day will facilitate time for moving materials to the New Princeton Primary School. Motion passed unanimously.

Award Bid for South Elementary Demolition- Motion made by Eric Minks and seconded by Deb Ulm to accept the low bid for the South Elementary Demolition. Motion passed unanimously.

Approve the Replacement Contract for casework material supply for Princeton Primary School- Motion made by Eric Mink and seconded by Deb Ulm to approve the termination of LSI Corporations contract for the Princeton Primary School as casework material supplier due to default of contract obligations and accept the Tender Agreement by Lexon Surety Group, LLC for Ironshore Indemnity, INC to replace LSI Corporation with Woodside Industries for $440,000. Upon roll call the following voted for: Eric Minks, Deb Ulm, Jeremy Miller. Opposed: Chuck Nagle. Motion passed 3:1.

Allocation of Assigned Building fund to furniture procurement for The Princeton Primary School.- Motion made by Deb Ulm and seconded by Eric Minks to approve the allocation of assigned funds of $ 63,110.00 for furniture procurement for the Princeton Primary school. Roll Call call the following voted for: Eric Minks, Deb Ulm, Jeremy Miller. Opposed: Chuck Nagle. Motion passed 3:1.

Custodial Contract- Motion made by Deb Ulm and seconded by Eric Minks to approve the custodial contract for 2015-2017. Motion passed unanimously.

ADJOURN – Eric Minks made a motion to adjourn. Deb Ulm seconded the motion. Meeting was adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
